2011 Weekly Fantasy Football

It's that time of year again! Weekly Fantasy Football leagues are now forming at Fantasy Sports Live. This will be our 5th season of offering our innovative fantasy football leagues that run any day that we have 2 or more games on the schedule. The draft pool for week 1 is based on last years pool with selected rookies added to the mix. Since rookies can't be priced accurately without any game experience, we hold back until week 2 to fully expand our draft pool. After week 1 and continuing through the rest of the season, any players who are generating fantasy points will be available to draft. We are working on a special promotion for the season that will be announced shortly. Stay tuned.

NFL Playoff Fantasy Football

Its that time of year again. The time when it is all on the line, and you must win or go home. For the forth year Fantasy Sports Live will be offering Daily Fantasy Football during the NFL playoffs. When we launched the concept of salary cap based daily fantasy sports in June of 2007, we did not do it with playoff fantasy sports in mind, but it enabled fantasy sports to continue long after the season ends when most people would normally stop playing. For the NFL Playoffs we have two games on Saturday and Sunday for the first two weeks, and two games after that for the AFC and NFC championships. For each of those five playoff days we will be offering a full suite of fantasy football leagues to chose from. Simply draft a normal fantasy football team from the four teams playing that day, and win some cash for your efforts. During the NFL playoffs all of the games will be televised nationally so you can watch every fantasy point your team scores for free. You don't need to worry about getting 100% effort from your fantasy team, or your star player getting rested. Everything is on the line now.

The strategy for NFL playoff fantasy football is pretty similar to the regular season. The defenses tend to be a bit stronger in the playoffs so fantasy scoring goes down a bit. Also, with a smaller pool of players to draft we tend to use lower cap amounts in the leagues to help improve fantasy team variety. So get your fantasy teams handicapped and enjoy fantasy football for another three weeks. We do not offer fantasy leagues for the Superbowl since two or more games are required for a legal fantasy league, but that will give you some time to count your winnings prior to the big game. NFL Game Postponement

The Giants Vikings Game has been postponed until Monday due to snow. We have cancelled all open Heads-up leagues and rescheduled them without the postponed game for your convenience. If a league was already closed or had more then one entry, it will be allowed to run, but the postponed game will not be scored per our rules on game postponements. If you are in a Sunday fantasy football league that still has the Giants/Vikings game in it, you will need to remove any players that you may have drafted for that game, and replace them with players from the other games to avoid taking a zero for a players that do not play.

Enough with the bad news. Due to the postponement we will have two NFL games on Monday and will be able to offer Fantasy Football this Monday for an unusual second time this year. You will then have your chance to load up on AP, longwell ...

One of the great things about the Sundays With Dr. Pauly promo at Fantasy Sports Live is that you can jump in for just one week and still lock down some bonus cash.
