Correct me if I'm wrong but the scoring is based on traditional fantasy scoring which goes for a whole year. On a given day a pitcher gets 4x points than a position player, but then he doesn't play the next four days and it evens out.

Since these contests only take place over one day the pitchers account for too much of your score.

Rather than give them a point per out and negative one per run try a point per full inning pitched, and -2 for earned runs.

An idea for points values which may be rather difficult to code would have the player's value fluctuate based on how frequently they are picked. Start it based on salary then like Vegas odds makers adjust it based on popularity. I think ESPN does something similar with one of their fantasy football games.

Love the site. Can't wait for football season.ZeRat11https://www.blogger.com/profile/01317385949333690734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-494526787047691611.post-67785631186076552622007-08-01T16:35:00.000-07:002007-08-01T16:35:00.000-07:00I think this would be a great system, in addition ...I think this would be a great system, in addition to the salary cap games you already have up. I would definitely play in more leagues with this setup.Dave Pottshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00392515471782100002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-494526787047691611.post-85065028680371434682007-08-01T06:28:00.000-07:002007-08-01T06:28:00.000-07:00I like it, basically every night you see the same ...I like it, basically every night you see the same 2 or 3 pitchers picked when you start seeing all the other box scores in your contest. At least now maybe people will have to look for value and not everyone will be picking Verlander, Beckett, and Penny.TraumaPokerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02903248257179017900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-494526787047691611.post-82469359984563771872007-07-31T15:54:00.000-07:002007-07-31T15:54:00.000-07:00The ranking is based on how many fantasy points pl...The ranking is based on how many fantasy points players put up per game. Pitchers put up about 4x as many points/games as postion players in the current scoring system. So they should cost 4x as much in cap. At least thats how the logic goes. With the current cap you can pick up some solid rookie pitchers for 10k that put up 3-4x A-Rods numbers on average and he costs 170k. This will make things much more difficult and lead to a wider range of player selections as a result (we think).Blindershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10457778597515322620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-494526787047691611.post-61386183864407382412007-07-31T09:30:00.000-07:002007-07-31T09:30:00.000-07:00Are we really going to be spending more than half ...Are we really going to be spending more than half our cap on pitchers? The split looks unbalanced.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17491804317256286072noreply@blogger.com
