Week 12 Fantasy Football Player Projections

I will put out the Week 12 fantasy football player projections out a bit early this week since we have Thursday games and leagues. Week 11 projections were pretty strong, so there are no tweaks this week except I added a home field advantage factor for defences that I did not get around to last week. When you are using these projections to build a fantasy football team at FantasySportsLive.com, the goal is to build the highest projected scoring team, that fits under the allowed cap. You don't always want the highest projected player, but the players that are expected to score the most relative to their cap amounts. The top picks that I show in red are the players who are expected to outscore their cap values by the highest percentages. If you divide a players cap value by 10 at Fantasy Sports Live you will get their average fantasy points per game this year. You want players that will score the most above their average fantasy score (cost). Use the top picks, and then add the players that will get you the top possible projected fantasy score and you will be ready to profit. Also, keep in mind that no adjustments are made for injury/game status. Once you figure out your perfect fantasy football team, be sure to check up on your teams health, and recent player performance to make sure your team will be in top form this week.

Week 11 Fantasy Football Player Projections

Here we go for Week 11. Recapping last week, the projections appeared to be pretty solid with a highly accurate projection for top RB Chris Johnson, and some real nice WR sleepers identified. Favre was a bit of a disappointment, but was really just a TD away from hitting his projection, and they turned the ball over in the red zone three times in the first half. Lets just call that one the evils of variance. I would guess that you could have made some money with the posted Week 10 projections over at Fantasy Sports Live. For Week 11 fantasy football player projections, I added a couple of refinements from last week. I have improved the kickers opponent strength rankings by fully using the FSL scoring system for kicker defense. Last week an approximation was used. I also have implemented a home field advantage factor. This week it is based on general home field advantage for all teams this year. Next week, I will probably take this to another level as well. So this weeks Fantasy Football player projections are based on average fantasy points per game, modified for strength of schedule. This is then further modified with an opponents strength factor, and generic home field advantage factor. Fantasy scoring is based on FantasySportsLive.com's scoring system. Other scoring systems may vary. Top picks against the FSL salary cap are in red. No adjustments for injuries or chance of playing have been made. There are no real great WR picks this week since A. Johnson is playing on Monday Night. Both him and Schaub are expected to go huge Monday.

Week 10 Fantasy Football Player Projections

Below I have ranked fantasy football players for week 10 2009 based on their projected fantasy football scores. Scoring is based on the fantasy football scoring system used at FantasySportsLive.com. Please see the rules tab here for the Fantasy Sports Live scoring system, but it is similar to most fantasy football scoring systems. These fantasy football player projections are based on a statistical forecast approach that uses strength of schedule to determine a players underlying weekly fantasy score run rate, which is then adjusted for the strength of this week's opponent to get a week 10 fantasy scoring projection. More forecasting factors can be applied, but I want to see how accurate this method is before I add more complexity. If you would like to use these projections to build a fantasy football team for week 10 at Fantasy Sports Live, try to build the highest projected scoring team possible that fits under the salary cap value. Keep in mind that there will always be variance around the projected score, but if your projected score is 125+, and a blindly picked projected score in a 950 pt cap league would be 95, you should be able to generate a nice advantage. Suggested top selections against the player cap value are shown in red. No adjustments for injuries or chances of not starting have been made so keep that in mind. Also, I am showing all players for this week. Players from Thursday and Monday's games will not be draftable at FSL.

New Automatic Draft Method Now Available

Tired of sharing fantasy players with your opponent in a salary cap fantasy league? Don't have the time or patience for a live draft to work things out so you can get your own players? Problem solved! Fantasy Sports Live's new Automatic Draft is the answer to your dreams. Simply rank the top projected fantasy players at each position for the day and we will work things out so that you get a completely unique team from your heads up opponent. Now you both don't have to root for Lebron James with nothing to gain.

How does it work?

All fantasy leagues at Fantasy Sports Live consist of 9 fantasy players at various positions. If you rank for us twice as many players at each position than a normal fantasy team would have, we can use that information to get you a unique fantasy team. Lets take fantasy football for example. Your fantasy team is QB, (3) WR, (2) RB, TE, K, and DEF. So for this draft method you and your opponent rank in projected top scoring order the following positions: (2) QBs, (6) WR, (4) RB, (2) TE, (2) K, and (2) DEF. The lowest rank cap value of the 18 player team gets to draft first using a modified snake draft by position (first league entry drafts first if there is a cap tie). For fantasy football the draft order goes like what is shown below (player 1 got the 1st pick, based on a lower rank cap total).

Player 1 - First Pick QB Round
Player 2 - First Pick WR Round 1
Player 2 - First Pick WR Round 2
Player 1 - First Pick WR Round 3
Player 1 - First Pick RB Round 1
Player 2 - First Pick RB Round 2
Player 2 - First Pick TE Round
Player 1 - First Pick K Round
Player 2 - First Pick DEF Round

So player 1 gets their QB-1 pick, then player 2 get their QB-1 if not taken, otherwise they get their QB-2. In the second round player 2 goes first and gets their WR-1. Player 1 then gets thier WR-1 if not taken, otherwise they get thier WR-2. In round 3, player 2 gets either WR-2 or WR-3 depending on who is available, then player 1 gets WR-2, WR-3, or WR-4 based on who is still available. and so on and so on. This all automatically happens at the start time of a fantasy league.

So with this draft you will get a completely unique fantasy team from your heads-up opponent, and it does not really take much longer than a salary cap draft. It uses the same draft interface, with twice as many slots at each position and a dash to indicate the rank of the choice. When the league starts we show all 18 team selections for both players, but cross-out the players who are benched, and only score your 9 unique starters. If you look close you can recreate the entire automated draft for full transparency (the way we like it here). See the Rules tab for snake draft order by sport. Our new Automated draft method is indicated by "Auto" in the CAP column. Try our new automated draft out, and let us know what you think.

NBA Progressive Feed for Fantasy Basketball Now Live

Last year we had end of quarter updates for our Daily Fantasy Basketball leagues. This year our in game updates have been less than perfect. Well that is putting it nicely. Our live feed vendor completely dropped end of quarter scoring updates in favor of a new progressive NBA feed, and forgot to mention it to us preseason. So we have struggled with halftime and final box score updates only as we have worked on implementing the new NBA progressive feed. Well we are proud to say it has been up and running correctly for several days now. I need to throw out a disclaimer here, as our stat vendor has done the same. This is a new progressive feed that is not staffed in the same way that the baseball and football feeds are. It is not expected to be as accurate or as fast as our baseball and football in-game scoring is. In watching the live scoring, I would have to agree right now. It works pretty well as a way to see where you are in a league, but there are some scoring issues here and there. As with all of our fantasy leagues, fantasy basketball is settled with the official final NBA box scores, so any in-game scoring errors are corrected at that time. The fast pace of basketball also tends to put things more noticeably behind than with Baseball or Football. There are delays in the system from when the snapshot of scoring was taken and when that data is delivered to our website. For baseball or football even with a 10 minute delay, 90% of fantasy scores showing will be accurate. With fantasy basketball and the same scoring delay, most fantasy scores will be inaccurate. Anyway, enough on boring progressive scoring. Enjoy our faster updating daily fantasy basketball leagues and learn even quicker how much money you will be making tonight as a result of your superior NBA knowledge.
